If you are at this page you have probably located something that you believe to be incorrect.  In the past, updates would just be made whenever an E-mail was received notifying me of the incorrect information. Unfortunately, this is no longer possible as problems have developed when I have been sent incorrect information when my site was actually correct.  As a result, I am instituting the following procedure for information updates:

DEFUNCT AGENCIES:  In some cases I have listed agencies which have disbanded or who contract law enforcement services with a sheriff's department or other nearby police agency.  I will be retaining the last information available for that agency on that page with a note regarding any such contract.  To date, I have not located an address or phone number of a defunct agency that did not still reach a government official, usually a city clerk, who could still provide information on ordinances specific to that location.

Police Chief/Sheriff:  Send an E-mail to webmaster@NebraskaPolice.info and I will then contact that agency to verify the change.

Patch Images:  Generally, these are just patch images that have been e-mailed to me or that I have photographed at various locations.  I know some of them have not been in use for quite a few years and I will replace older patches with the most recent I have available.

E-mail Addresses:  I will no longer be listing E-mail addresses.  The reason for this is that there have been several occasions that I have listed an E-mail address only to find that it was a personal address and not an official department address.  This resulted in officers that had quit or moved on still getting E-mail from their old department.

Street Addresses and Phone Numbers:  Send an E-mail to webmaster@NebraskaPolice.info and I will then contact that agency to verify the change.  I prefer to have actual physical addresses over box numbers.

City Populations:  In order to keep a consistency through all of the pages, I will use only the 2000 Census data.  You can E-mail webmaster@NebraskaPolice.info if there is a typo or if I entered a completely wrong figure.

Sworn Officers:  This figure comes from the Federal Bureau of Investigation's 2005 Unified Crime Report.  This report can be located at http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/ucr.htm.  The exceptions to this are agencies that are not listed in this report.  Initially, those agencies will be listed with "unknown" for number of officers.

Vehicle Photos:  I realize that I have many vehicles that are no longer in use.  I want to keep these on the site as a historical record and actually would like to have as many older vehicles as possible, even vehicles from agencies that have disbanded.  Of course I try to keep current photos of the vehicles as well.  Send any marked patrol car photos from any Nebraska agency to webmaster@NebraskaPolice.info.  Please, no undercover or unmarked vehicles. I ask that you do provide your full name so that I can list it along with the photo, this helps me to avoid any copyright problems.
